Each September, Catharina opens her studio to the public as part of the Uxbridge Studio Tour — a beloved, juried, self-guided art tour that has been bringing visitors to the creative studios of North Durham for over 40 years.
The tour takes place the third weekend of every September and is entirely free to attend. It offers an intimate look at where art is actually made — inside working studios nestled among forests, farmland, and the charming historic landscape of Uxbridge, Ontario.

Commission a Garden Totem
The studio tour is also a wonderful opportunity to discuss a commissioned totem for your own garden or home. Catharina is happy to create a custom piece for your outdoor or indoor space, and can deliver and install it for you. Contact Catharina to start a conversation.
2026 Tour Details
Dates: Saturday, September 19 & Sunday, September 20, 2026
Studio 4
512 Allbright Rd., Uxbridge, ON, L9P 1R4
This marks Catharina’s fifth year participating in the tour. She will be showing her work in the indoor and outdoor studio gallery of painter Hanneke Koonstra, alongside guest artists Kade Bolger and Berna Kilic.
On display are her signature ceramic totems — colourful, vertical garden sculptures that have become something of a calling card at the show. These pieces explore how ceramics can shape and enhance both outdoor and indoor living spaces.
Many works incorporate frost-resistant elements and are designed to remain outside year-round.
About the Uxbridge Studio Tour
Founded in 1985 by a group of dedicated Uxbridge artists, the Uxbridge Studio Tour is a juried event, meaning every participating artist is evaluated by a committee of fellow artists based on creativity, skill, and studio access. With over 60 artists taking part each year, the tour covers a remarkable range of media — ceramics, painting, sculpture, jewellery, glass, fibre, photography, and more.
What sets it apart from a gallery show is the direct connection visitors make with the artists and the spaces where work is created. You can watch a demonstration, ask questions, and bring home something made just minutes away from where you’re standing.
Catharina has been a participating artist at the Uxbridge Studio Tour for several years. If you would like to attend and visit her studio, get in touch for directions or to arrange a private viewing.
