Theme by Anders Norén

Growing up among fields, rocks, lakes and trees, I now work in a large urban centre, immersed in concrete. Oscillating between these poles, my work is a coupling of both, inviting the viewer to contemplate a piece of nature within the context of a fabricated object. We need nature to regenerate our soul and culture to challenge our minds. I am drawn to objects of utility, past or present: the bowl — a universal object — cracked or broken, its essence preserved. Earthy and smooth juxtaposed, the materials spanning realms of nature and culture. Noble porcelain combined with rugged rocks to form objects of cultural significance.
